Paul Bovee, Athletic Director

Grew up playing HS lax in centra NY and went to college in NY. My college lax team never won any games and I started teaching lacrosse to my college teammates and four years later when I was a senior and captain this team would qualify for the NCAA playoffs for first time in college history. In 1972, I was voted a college all-American in lacrosse and I was voted into my college’s sports hall of fame (lacrosse) in 2010.

Started teaching lax with the boys lax program in Rockwall in 2010 and retired after hiring Michael Fay as boys head coach in 2013. Michael remains the Rockwall boys head coach.

A number of Rockwall HS girls asked me help them form a team and coach them in 2014. This was the founding of girls lacrosse in Rockwall. The team dissolved in 2016 when all the players graduated and realized a comprehensive K-12 training program would be needed if lacrosse was to succeed in Rockwall. A board of directors of interested parents was formed and I began training players and parents who wished to be coaches. These 3/4 and 5/6 players five years later would be the nucleus of our first Rockwall girls team to ever play for a varsity State championship in lacrosse. We now regularly compete in major tournaments and for the state playoffs as well as graduate players on scholarships for lacrosse to numerous college’s. My greatest satisfaction comes from watching our players mature and succeed.
